1. Introduction
This guide describes the settings and procedures necessary to deploy the memoQ desktop program in an organization.
memoQ can be installed in silent mode, when the Setup program reads the installation settings from a so-called answer file. Using the silent-mode installer, memoQ can also be installed in an unattended manner using central deployment systems such as Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services.
This document contains a description of
the files needed by the silent-mode installer;
the settings in the answer file;
activating multiple copies memoQ from a single answer file;
deploying memoQ using Active Directory Domain Services group policies;
virtualizing and distributing memoQ client images.
This guide assumes that you are familiar with unzipping files, installing and activating programs, publishing folders in a network, and editing text documents in a plain text editor. To perform central deployment, you also need to be familiar with Active Directory administration and group policies.
Important: You cannot use the techniques described in this document to deploy or virtualize memoQ server or any of its components. If you need to run memoQ server in a virtualized environment, please contact memoQ support.
