Adjusting fuzzy matches
Context: While you are translating, TM matches in the target appear to be changed from the original in the Translation results pane.
Description:
memoQ tries to be clever and adjust fuzzy matches – change certain numbers, tags, punctuation, formatting, or letter case (uppercase to lowercase and vice versa) in the translation suggestion, based on the source text. This never happens for 101% or 100% matches.
This is useful in most cases, but you can switch off some of the adjustments (formatting and letter case). To do that, you need to disable the Adjust fuzzy hits option in the project's TM settings. This is a light resource. To change it for the current project: Go to Project home > Settings > TM settings, and edit the TM settings resource. (If you are using the default one, you need to clone it first, then edit and select the cloned resource for the project). To change it for all future projects: Go to Options > Default resources > TM settings, and select the resource that you edited as default.
Note: Changing the default resource does not change the TM settings for existing projects.
