GoogleMT plugins requests a new API key
How to:Google sometimes changes the procedure in how to use its Translate API. At the time of writing, the Translate API no longer accepts browser generated keys to use the Google MT plugin. The key must be a server generated one. Everybody needs to create this new "server" key. A server key needs a list of allowed fixed IP addresses. When you use WiFi and then most likely a non-fixed IP address, you need to create a new key for each IP address.
Here is how to generate a new key:
- Log in to the Google API console, and create a new server key.
- Add your own IP address(es) as allowed.
- Set the new key in memoQ.
Note: If you are not familiar with how to install the Google MT plugin, please read the Knowledge Base article: https://help.memoq.com/current/en/Places/googlemt-settings.html?Highlight=Google%20API
Note: You find further information on other supported plugins for Machine Translations here: https://help.memoq.com/current/en/Places/options-machine-translation.html?Highlight=machine%20translation and on the memoQ website, there is a guide on Setting up MT plugins.
