Fixing QA resources with custom punctuation marks (memoQ 2014)

Unfortunately there is an issue with QA resource files created in memoQ 2014 (from builds 7.0 - 7.07), but this problem only affects custom punctuation marks. The issue is that memoQ  doesn't show the custom punctuation marks you have already added.

If you created a QA resource with memoQ 2014 before you updated to build 7.08 or 7.09, and/or added custom punctuation marks to it in this period, then your new QA settings will not show the custom punctuation marks you have added. However, this can be fixed with a find/replace operation in the resource file itself. (If you are not comfortable with this, please, send the exported resource to support.)

Fixing the resouce:

1. Find the file: in memoQ go to Tools/Options/Locations, and there choose the Resources tab. You will find the location for your resources in the field called "Light resources", and the QA settings are in a folder called QASettings within this folder. Go to this location in a file explorer, and you will see your resource file.

2. Open this file in a simple text editor (eg. Notepad).

3. With the Replace command replace all instances of QAPunctuationMark to PunctuationMark, exactly with this spelling. (You can also do this manually: delete " QA" from the beginning of every occurrence of "QAPunctuationMark".)

4. Save the file.

5. Check your file: if you open the QA settings in memoQ, you need to be able to see the custom punctuation marks.

If it still doesn't show the punctuation marks, please, send the file to support.
