Troubleshooting: memoQ cannot reach out to Language Terminal
Posted by P├ęter Botta on 13 March 2013 10:18 AM

Symptom: On some systems, memoQ displays an error message when it attempts to reach out to Language Terminal, e.g., when the user wants to save a project backup there. The error message contains the following or similar:

TYPE:
System.InvalidOperationException
MESSAGE:
An error occurred while loading attribute 'XmlSerializerFormatAttribute' on method 'delete' in type 'AuthenticatedStorageWS'. Please see InnerException for more details.

Resolution: .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 needs to be installed or re-installed. At the time of writing, this version is available for downloading at http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=22. You might need to uninstall other .NET versions if this does not help immediately. (Make sure memoQ is not running while you are installing or removing .NET Framework.)

Note: Do not install .NET 4 instead of version 3.5 SP1.
