Troubleshooting: memoQ cannot reach out to Language Terminal

Symptom: On some systems, memoQ displays an error message when it attempts to reach out to Language Terminal, e.g., when the user wants to save a project backup there. The error message contains the following or similar:

An error occurred while loading attribute 'XmlSerializerFormatAttribute' on method 'delete' in type 'AuthenticatedStorageWS'. Please see InnerException for more details.

Resolution: .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 needs to be installed or re-installed. At the time of writing, this version is available for downloading at You might need to uninstall other .NET versions if this does not help immediately. (Make sure memoQ is not running while you are installing or removing .NET Framework.)

Note: Do not install .NET 4 instead of version 3.5 SP1.
