Title: Folders to save in order to backup your memoQ server

Context: As of today, the memoQ server does not have a built-in backup protocol, so you will have to create a manual backup of the appropriate folders. This article explains what to back up.

Description: In order to backup your memoQ server, please create a copy of the following folders either manually, or using a backup software:

Online projects: You can check their location under Tools / Server Administrator / Configuration and Logging

Database files: By default, they are stored under C:\ProgramData\memoQserver, and are called MemoqServer.mdf and MemoQserver_log.ldf

- Translation memories: As of memoQ 6.0 and 6.2, online translation memories are stored under C:\ProgramData\memoQserver\Translation memories, unless you've set a different location. The TM Path can be checked by opening the C:\ProgramData\memoQserver\configuration.xml file with a text editor. It is listed as <TMPath>Location</TMPath>

- Corpora, Muses, term bases, light resources: The default location is C:\ProgramData\memoQ. To check, open the memoQ client installed on the server, and check the paths underTools/Options/Locations.

By default C:\ProgramData is a hidden folder. You can make Windows show it if you choose Control Panel / Folder Options / View / Show hidden files and folders.
