What is CodeZapper

David Turner’s Codezapper:

CodeZapper is a set of Word macros that will allow you to reduce greatly the number of "slight formatting differences" in your Word documents.

Those "glitches" in formatting are most often created by conversion tools that convert PDF files into editable Word files.
To try and reproduce the layout of the original PDF file, these software converters will "tweak and torture" font and paragraph settings, sizes, colours, etc.
And these constant "adjustments" in the middle of sentences are to be marked as "tags" in CAT tools.

You can download CodeZapper from http://kilgray.com/resource-center/external-tools

Quick instructions:

Copy the .dot macro template into the default Word “Startup” folder.

Use the “CZL” button. It should be enough.

If not, use the “PDFFix” button. For spurious line breaks use “PDFTidy”

Now, use the "cleaned" document for translation in memoQ. it should show a lot less "extraneous tags".
