How to transfer my memoQ license (TP or PM) to a different computer?

You wish to transfer your memoQ client, and your current license to a different computer, while keeping the option to use the second extension of your serial number to activate a second, parallel installation of memoQ in the future. 

The extension is the last three digits at the end of your serial number (usually, it is 001). With the purchase of a stand-alone perpetual license, you are eligible to use memoQ on two separate computers and through these extensions, we can differentiate between these installations. 


What to do? 

  • Decide on the time and date when you wish to proceed with the license transfer.

  • When you are ready, please send a support ticket or an email to the support@memoq.com address with a subject and content that describes the nature of your request. 

  • One of our support engineers will respond to you in a short while and the extension gets re-created right away. You will receive a confirmation email as well.

  • Now you can use your serial number (with or without the extension) to activate the new installation of memoQ. The software will auto-fill in the extension for you.
If you are trying to activate memoQ offline or you do not have an active internet connection, please go to the Activation menu and use the "Retrieve activation data for sending in e-mail" button to generate an activation .xml file which you can send us as an attachment to the support@memoq.com address.

If you wish to migrate your current projects and resources over to the other computer as well, we would recommend that you use the built-in Backup \ Restore functions.
