Installing Microsoft Translator MT plugin in memoQ
How to use the Microsoft Translator plugin in memoQ?
Comments:
There are several subscription plans for the API, but there is a free one for 2 million characters per month (at the time of writing).
Getting started with Microsoft Translator (or Bing Translator) in memoQ:
Step 1: Go to https://datamarket.azure.com/dataset/1899a118-d202-492c-aa16-ba21c33c06cb.
Step 2: Select a plan and click on Sign up.
Step 3: Log in using a Windows ID or create a new one for free.
Step 4: Enter your user information and agree to the user agreements.
Step 5: Go to My Account in the navigation bar and copy your customer ID.
Step 6: Scroll down to the bottom of the navigation bar and click Register your application in the Develop menu.
Step 7: If you do not have a registered application, register and create one. The client ID is what you received earlier, the client secret is filled in automatically. Enter your name and for the redirect URI, enter any valid URL like http://www.kilgray.com.
Step 8: Open memoQ. Go to Resource console > Machine Translation.
Step 9: Select the Microsoft MT Plugin and click on Configure plugin.
Step 10: Enter your Client ID and Client Secret, click Check login data and if the authentication is successful, click OK.
Step 12: If you have entered the correct Client ID and Client secret, you should now get hits in the Translation results pane.
Warning: After having enabled the plugin, but you can no longer open files for translation, then it is likely that you have not entered a valid Client ID and Client secret. To solve this issue, either disable the plugin or enter the correct Client ID and Client secret.
